1. Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Agreement ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you ("you", "your", or "User") and Padel Rivals, a service operated by Karim Tamer Shawky Elsayed and Youssef Ehab Salaheldin Tawfik Wahb under the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt ("Padel Rivals", "we", "us", or "our"), governing your access to and use of the Padel Rivals mobile application, marketplace, and all related services (together, the "Service").

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Definitions

  • "Account" means the personal account you register to use the Service.
  • "Content" means any data, text, images, messages, ratings, or feedback submitted through the Service.
  • "Rating" (shown in the app as your "level") means the dynamic skill rating from 0.00 to 7.00 that we calculate automatically from your confirmed competitive match results.
  • "Marketplace" means the section of the Service where Padel Rivals sells padel gear and related products.
  • "Season" means a time-limited leaderboard in which matches and tournament results earn season points, which may carry rewards.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an Account and use the Service.

Because anyone under 18 is a minor under Egyptian law, if you are 16 or 17 you may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf and who is responsible for any purchases you make. We do not permit users under 16 to register. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements and have the legal capacity (or guardian consent) to enter into this agreement.

4. Account Registration and Security

To use most features you must register an Account with accurate, current, and complete information, using email/password, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple. You agree to:

  • keep your login credentials confidential and not share your Account;
  • be responsible for all activity under your Account;
  • notify us immediately at help@padel-rivals.com of any unauthorized use or security breach.

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate an Account that contains false information, is used in violation of these Terms, or presents a security or safety risk (see Section 20).

5. License to Use the Service

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for your own non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, or create derivative works of the Service except as permitted by law.

6. Matchmaking, Ratings, and Leaderboards

The Service calculates a dynamic skill rating from 0.00 to 7.00 (your "level") from your confirmed competitive match results, and uses it to suggest opponents, seed brackets, and build leaderboards. New Users begin unranked and receive a level after completing five competitive matches. You do not set your own level.

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • levels, matchmaking suggestions and leaderboard positions are estimates generated automatically and are provided for convenience only;
  • a result counts towards your level only once a player on the opposing team confirms it, or 48 hours after submission if no one confirms or disputes it;
  • casual matches do not affect your level;
  • your level may decrease after a long period without competitive play;
  • we do not guarantee the accuracy of any level, or the skill, conduct, or identity of any other User;
  • your display name, profile picture, level, match history and leaderboard position are publicly visible to other Users to enable matchmaking and leaderboards, and you consent to this display. Your email, date of birth, and address are not public;
  • your phone number is shown to the other players in a match you have joined, for as long as that match’s thread is open, so that you can arrange the game between you. It is not shown to anyone else.

Where a result is disputed, or a level or standing is clearly wrong, an administrator may correct it. Corrections are recorded, and where they affect your season points you will be notified in the app. Final levels and standings are determined by us. You may report a clearly erroneous result at help@padel-rivals.com.

7. Season Leaderboards and Rewards

From time to time we run a Season: a leaderboard in which confirmed competitive matches and tournament results earn season points, separate from your level. Where a Season offers rewards, the rank ranges and prizes are shown in the app.

  • The points rules and reward brackets are set by us and may change during a Season; changes apply from the time they are made.
  • We may correct or remove points awarded in error, and will notify you in the app when we do.
  • Rewards are determined by the standings at the moment the Season closes and are issued within a reasonable period after that date. Where a reward is unavailable we may substitute one of equal or greater value.
  • We may exclude any User from a Season, or withhold a reward, where we reasonably believe results were manipulated or these Terms were breached.

8. Community Conduct and Prohibited Uses

You agree not to, and not to allow others to:

  • harass, threaten, defame, stalk, or harm any other User, on or off the platform;
  • submit false match results, manipulate levels or season points, or otherwise cheat;
  • post unlawful, obscene, discriminatory, or infringing Content;
  • impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation;
  • use the Service for spam, solicitation, or unauthorized commercial activity;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other Accounts, or our systems;
  • upload viruses or malicious code, or interfere with the operation of the Service;
  • collect or harvest other Users’ data without consent.

We may remove Content and suspend Accounts that violate this Section.

9. In-App Messaging

The Service lets Users exchange direct messages to coordinate matches and marketplace inquiries. Messages are stored to deliver the conversation and may, where necessary for safety, security, dispute resolution, or legal compliance, be reviewed by us. We are not responsible for the content of communications between Users. Do not share sensitive personal or financial information through in-app messaging.

10. In-Person Play, Meetups, and Assumption of Risk

Please read this Section carefully. Padel Rivals is a platform that helps connect players; it does not organize, supervise, or control matches, meetups, courts, clubs, or events, and it does not vet or perform background checks on Users.

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • meeting and playing with other people involves inherent risks, including physical injury, property loss, and interactions with strangers;
  • you participate in any match, meetup, or event entirely at your own risk;
  • you are solely responsible for your safety, including choosing safe public locations, verifying court and club arrangements, and deciding whether to meet any User;
  • padel is a physical sport and you represent that you are medically fit to participate.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Padel Rivals is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from in-person play, meetups, or interactions with other Users.

11. Marketplace, Orders, and Returns

Padel Rivals sells padel gear and related products directly through the Marketplace. We are the seller and are responsible for the products we offer, subject to these Terms and Egyptian law.

Pricing and availability. Prices are shown in Egyptian Pounds (EGP) and may change. Products are subject to availability; we may cancel an order and refund you if a product is unavailable or a pricing error occurs. Some products are not held in stock and are sourced after you order, and may take longer to deliver. The total price and any delivery fees are shown before you confirm your order.

Payment. We do not accept card payments and no payment is processed inside the Service. You pay either (a) cash on delivery, or (b) by InstaPay transfer to the account shown at checkout, after which you upload an image of your transfer receipt so we can confirm it. We never collect or store card numbers. Receipt images are stored privately and are visible only to our staff, for the sole purpose of confirming your payment.

Delivery. Estimated delivery times and shipping fees are shown at checkout and are estimates only.

Returns and Refunds. You may return eligible products within 14 days of delivery where the product is defective, damaged, or not as described, consistent with the Egyptian Consumer Protection Law No. 181 of 2018 and its executive regulations. Returned products should be unused and in their original packaging unless the item is defective. Approved refunds are issued by the same method you paid. We do not currently issue store credit. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory consumer rights under Egyptian law.

12. Tournaments and Paid Entries

Some tournaments require a paid entry fee, shown before you register. Entry fees are not processed in the Service: you transfer the fee by InstaPay to the account shown at registration — for an event run by an independent organizer, that is the organizer’s own account, not ours — and your entry is confirmed once the recipient verifies the transfer. Where a tournament is priced per player, you may pay for both players or only your own share, in which case your partner is asked to pay theirs.

Withdrawal and refunds. You may withdraw at any time. If you have paid an entry fee, it is refunded only where you withdraw before the tournament’s start date; withdrawing on or after that date forfeits the fee. Refunds are made by whoever received the fee.

Tournaments may be run by us or by independent organizers using the Service. Where an organizer runs an event, that organizer is responsible for the event, its entry fees, its rules and its prizes; we provide the platform. Draws, brackets and recorded results are administered by whoever runs the event, and their decisions on draws and results are final.

13. User Content and License to Padel Rivals

You retain ownership of Content you submit. By submitting Content, you grant Padel Rivals a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and reproduce that Content solely to operate and improve the Service (for example, showing your profile, level, and match history to other Users). This license ends when you delete the Content or your Account, except where it has been shared with others, is retained for legal or safety reasons, or exists in backups. You represent that you have the rights to the Content you submit and that it violates no law or third-party right.

14. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, logos, the name "Padel Rivals", text, and graphics, is owned by the operators or their licensors and is protected by Egyptian and international intellectual property law. Except for the limited license in Section 5, no rights are granted to you. You may not use the Padel Rivals name or logo without our prior written permission.

15. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers, including Supabase (hosting, database, authentication and file storage), Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and the Apple Push Notification service (push notifications), and Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple (login). We do not integrate with any payment processor: InstaPay transfers are made by you, outside the Service, using your own bank or wallet app. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party services or their content. Your use of them may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

16. Privacy

Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and process personal data in accordance with the Egyptian Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020. By using the Service you acknowledge that Policy.

17. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant the conduct of any User, the accuracy of levels, or the availability of any court, club, product, or event.

18. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Padel Rivals and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service.

To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the greater of EGP 5,000 or the total amount you paid to Padel Rivals in the 6 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Egyptian law, including your statutory consumer rights.

19. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Padel Rivals and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your Content, your use of the Service, or your interactions with other Users.

20. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your Account at any time, from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your Account or access, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or where required by law.

On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive (including Sections 10, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, and 22) will survive. Certain data is retained after deletion as described in the Privacy Policy and as required by law — in particular, records of orders you placed are kept in anonymised form for the tax retention period.

21. Changes to the Service and to These Terms

We may modify or discontinue features of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms to reflect changes in our practices or the law. We will post the updated Terms at the address linked from the app and update the "Last Updated" date, and where changes are material we will provide reasonable notice. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

22. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree that the competent courts of Cairo, Egypt shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights that entitle you to bring a claim elsewhere.

23. General

  • Entire Agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Padel Rivals regarding the Service.
  • Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
  • No Waiver. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of that right.
  • Assignment. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a transfer or sale of the Service.
  • Force Majeure. We are not liable for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
  • Language. These Terms may be provided in English and Arabic. If an Arabic version is published, the Arabic version prevails for interpretation before Egyptian courts.
